Why wearing glasses is the worst thing to do for our eyes and what to do instead to improve our vision naturally
If you’re having problems with your vision, then you’ve probably visited your optician for an eye test. And your optician has probably recommended you wear glasses. But now you’re lumbered with wearing glasses or contact lenses for the rest of your life.
And yes, glasses have helped many people improve their vision and give them relief from pain and discomfort. But for many other people, glasses do more harm than good. And they never return your vision to normal. That’s according to Dr. William Bates a noted eye doctor from the New York Eye Infirmary. He has this to say about glasses;
When you look at color through a strong concave or convex glass you’ll note that the color is less intense than when seen with the naked eye. And because the perception of form depends upon the perception of color, it follows that both color and form must be less distinctly seen with glasses than without them. Every plane glass lowers the vision for both color and form, as we know full well when we look out of a window.
You cannot see through glasses unless you produce the refractive error which the glasses are designed to correct. But refractive errors in the eye are never constant.
If your vision improves through the aid of convex, concave or astigmatic lenses it means you’re constantly maintaining a degree of refractive error. And this often makes your eye condition worse. Once you begin to wear glasses, then their strength in most cases has to be continually increased. That’s for you to maintain the degree of vision secured by your first pair of glasses.
People with presbyopia who wear glasses because they can read fine print discover that once they’re wearing glasses they cannot read the larger print that was plain to them. A person with the myopia of 20/70 who puts on glasses which give him a vision of 20/20 may find within a week that his unaided vision has declined to 20/200.
So what is the alternative to glasses?
Well, after examining tens of thousands of eyes Dr. Bates discovered that vision problems occur after an eye strain. The strain causes tension in the eye muscles. So nearsightedness or farsightedness occurs.
But if you correct the tension in the eye muscles then perfect vision returns. And the best way to correct your vision is by doing eye exercises. Think of it like this:-
If you strained a muscle in your leg you’d go and see a sports therapist. And they’d massage your injured muscle with their hands. They’re exercising the muscle and releasing any tension in it.
The same thing happens with your eyes. When the tension is released in your eye muscles then your vision returns to normal.
